Smuts Beyers, CEO
Smuts leads Commercii with a visionary approach, drawing on extensive experience in the developing countries and networks to drive our strategic direction and long-term growth. Smuts is previous MD and CEO at multinational companies including Pearson and Oxford University Press. He also has many years experience and has built an extensive network in the commodities sector working with Commonwealth developing countries in his capacity as CEO of Nexus Partnerships.

Venia Chirombe, Head of Trading
Venia oversees affairs of the trading company in Zimbabwe including deal structuring, liaison with key stakeholders as well as overseeing all legal, administrative and operational issues of the local firm. She is a registered legal practitioner holding an LLB degree from Wits University and other professional certifications. Venia brings 10 years of experience in corporate settings. Her background spans the financial, automotive, and commodities trading sectors, where she has continually developed her skills and expertise.

Esme Chapman, Head of Operations
Esme ensures seamless day-to-day operations, maintaining our commitment to compliance and ethical trading standards. She has many years experience in investment research, information management, and compliance. Esme is a first class graduate of the University of Cambridge.

Takudzwa Gombakomba, Mining Operations Manager
Takudzwa Gombakomba has over five years in the mining sector and three years in the public sector. His expertise includes mining and processing base metals such as chrome, lithium, manganese, limestone, and quartz. Taku holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences Honours Degree in Governance and Public Management. He has held key positions in Zimbabwean mining companies, including Assistant Logistics Manager at Zimbabwe Alloys Management Services, Assistant Operations Manager at Draco Drilling and Exploration Pvt, and Marketing Officer at Zimbabwe Alloys Chrome. Additionally, he served as an Assistant Committee Clerk at the Parliament of Zimbabwe. Takudzwa’s experience and skills make him a valuable asset in both mining and public sector settings.
